When Sam started the business out of an apartment at 699 Main Street he planted the seeds for a business that is still thriving and serving Monctonians to this day. The History of Ermen Plumbing
Sam Ermen Senior and Thos McCarthy started in business together in 1934 forming what would become Ermen Plumbing and Heating. From 1935 until 1977, the business was run by Sam Sr and found itself in many different locations in the Greater Moncton Area, starting at 699 Main Street, spending two and a half decades on Wesley Street, and then spending nearly two years on Botsford Street.
In 1977, day to day operation was taken over by Sam Sr’s son Ronald and held court in several locations starting on East Main, and finishing on Millennium Boulevard with stops on Commercial Street, St. George Blvd, Collishaw Street, and Barker Street.
With over 80 years of service to the Moncton area, Ermen Plumbing and Heating is very active in the community, supporting the Greater Moncton SPCA, Olympia Cheerleading, and the Arnold McLeod Breakfast and Milk program, as well as holding seats on various committees and boards such as The United Way, The Construction Association of New Brunswick, Plumbing Advisory Committee Apprentice, as well as chairing the Petitcodiac Watershed Alliance, the Mechanical Contractors Association, and the Plumbing Safety Advisory Committee for the province of New Brunswick.
Over the decades, we have grown, diversified, and kept pace with the rapid growth of Greater Moncton and changes within our industry, and by doing so we are able to help with anything our customers need, from their kitchen taps to Magic Mountain.
